Digital channel Talking Pictures TV will be available to viewers in five more Local TV areas after agreeing a distribution deal with That’s TV, the UK’s largest Local TV licence operator, it was announced today (TUES). Films from Talking Pictures TV, which is dedicated to classic British cinema, will be broadcast on That’s Lancashire, That’s Manchester, That’s Oxfordshire, That’s Solent and That’s Cambridge on Freeview Channel 7 everyday between midday and 6.00pm from January 2nd 2017. The agreement was brokered on behalf of the channel by its media sales agency Media15. Sarah Cronin-Stanley, Talking Pictures TV Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted That’s TV viewers will be watching movies from Talking Pictures TV, including our classic films and documentaries about the places where they live. Our library of iconic British cinema is expanding all the time and we’re reaching more and more viewers through our digital platforms and affiliates.“ Daniel Cass, Chief Executive of That’s TV, said: “We are committed to giving viewers the very best in British entertainment, alongside local news and information. We are therefore very excited to reach this agreement with Talking Pictures TV, which will ensure the best of British cinema is available to That’s TV viewers every afternoon. We expect this to further boost the audience inheritance for our evening local news programming.“ The announcement follows distribution deals Talking Pictures TV signed earlier this year with three other Local TV Channels: Latest TV in Brighton, Bay TV in Swansea and NVTV in Belfast. Since launching last year Talking Pictures TV has rapidly grown its distribution network and audience. Among the channel’s fans are celebrity supporters such as: Mark Gatiss; Vic Reeves; Danny Baker; Matt Lucas; Stuart Maconie and Mark Kermode.
