Maj. Arthur Hill comes up with a novel way to buy a racehorse. He gets several hundred members of his local community to pitch in as equal part owners, but things do not go as smoothly as he had hoped. First, he manages to purchase the wrong horse, one that has more of an affinity for jumping than racing. On the eve of participation in the National the animal vanishes!
